Drywall Installation & Repair

Drywall is the finished plane behind paint, trim and cabinetry, so repairs have to solve both the damaged area and the way it meets the surrounding surface. Lunko Construction installs and repairs residential drywall across Huntsville and North Alabama as a focused service and as part of larger remodeling work.

New installation can include wall and ceiling board after framing changes, room renovations, additions or electrical and plumbing access. Board type, thickness, fastening, joints, corners and backing are coordinated with the actual location and approved scope.

Repair work ranges from holes and removed fixtures to larger damaged sections and ceiling areas. Water-damaged drywall is repaired only after the moisture source has been identified and properly resolved. We do not present drywall replacement as mold or water remediation.

Finishing may include tape, joint compound, corner treatment, sanding, skim coating and preparation of repaired surfaces. The required level depends on lighting, sheen, texture and the condition of the surrounding wall; a strong side light or glossy coating reveals more variation than a flat finish under diffuse light.

Texture matching is evaluated honestly because an exact match to an aged or hand-applied texture is not always possible. For broader updates, popcorn-ceiling or wall-texture removal may be followed by skim coating and surface preparation, subject to condition and any appropriate testing before older material is disturbed.

Drywall and painting are naturally connected. Repairs need adequate drying, sanding, dust removal and primer before finish coats. When both services are included, one coordinated sequence reduces handoff gaps and protects the work from being painted before it is ready.

Can you repair drywall damaged by a leak?

Yes, after the leak or moisture source has been properly resolved. Drywall replacement does not substitute for plumbing, roofing, mold or water-remediation work.

Can a drywall patch be made invisible?

Careful finishing, texture work, primer and paint can make a repair blend well, but lighting, sheen and the surrounding surface affect what remains visible. Exact texture matches are not always possible.

Do you remove popcorn ceilings?

Where the material and conditions are appropriate, popcorn-ceiling removal can be included. Older finishes may require testing before disturbance, and the exposed ceiling may need repair or skim coating before paint.

Do you install drywall after electrical or plumbing work?

Yes, when the openings and underlying work are ready for close-up and drywall repair is included in the approved scope.
